Manatt Health managing director Chiquita Brooks-LaSure and senior manager Gayle Mauser co-authored an article alongside The Commonwealth Fund’s Elizabeth Fowler for Health Affairs examining proposed federal policies that build on the Affordable Care Act (ACA) to improve comprehensive health insurance coverage for low-income Americans and increase its affordability for middle-income Americans. In the article, they note that the ACA’s ten-year anniversary is an opportunity to not only reflect on the law’s success, but to also identify areas for improvement, saying, “intermediate policy options that build on the ACA could make a difference in the lives of millions of Americans and set the state for future reforms.”
