In the article, Shatz and Strauss discuss 2022’s most noteworthy federal appellate practice cases, including a U.S. Supreme Court case that broadened the meaning of “mistake” for motions seeking relief from a judgment or order under Federal Rule of Civil Procedure 60(b)(1). The authors then highlight Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals cases covering statutory interlocutory appeals, interlocutory issues arising from anti-SLAPP orders, and other cases involving appellate jurisdiction and doctrines.
