In Manatt Appellate Partner Benjamin Shatz’s most recent column for Daily Journal, he provided a roundup of the most interesting and unique appellate news of 2023. Specifically, he discussed judicial ethics, changes in the U.S. and California Supreme Courts, noteworthy new rules that took effect, and several appellate cases of particular interest. “Tech glitches and etiquette blunders brought some comedic relief during the pandemic, but 2023 turned more serious as concerns about ethics were raised at the attorney level all the way up to the Supreme Court,” he wrote.
