In the article, the authors explained how the coverage landscape for employers as purchasers is evolving, and offered solutions for how to leverage policy that provides employers with the data, tools and market influence they need to address cost growth. “By equipping employers, purchasers, and the intermediaries that represent them with usable health care market data and information—and providing them guidance, coverage, and the policies that enable them to use such data and information—we can spur greater market competition and continue our progress in creating a transparent and accountable health care system.”
