Manatt’s CEO and Managing Partner, and co-leader of the firm's privacy and data security practice Donna Wilson was named on Daily Journal’s 2020 “Top Cyber Lawyers” list, which honors California’s leading cybersecurity lawyers each year. This is the third consecutive year that Wilson has been recognized by Daily Journal on this list.
In her “Top Cyber Lawyers” profile, Daily Journal noted Wilson’s representation of Aetna as the healthcare company’s co-lead litigation counsel when it was accused of releasing HIV-related information. Wilson told the publication that the case “raised a lot of issues, it really was both on federal and state levels.”
Wilson also discussed the California Privacy Rights Act, which Californians voted to approve through ballot measure Proposition 24 during the 2020 election. She noted that many within the business and advocacy spheres consider the legislation to be a bit of a mixed bag, saying “there’s either something or nothing for everyone, depending on the issue.”
