Dutton and Topper Named Notable Women in Law by Crain’s New York Business for Third Consecutive Year

Manatt Health Partner Melinda Dutton and Litigation and New York office Partner Prana Topper were recognized on Crain’s New York Business’ Notable Women in Law list for the third consecutive year. This annual list honors the state’s leading women lawyers for their accomplishments both in and out of the courtroom.

Crain’s noted that Dutton is an “architect of Manatt Health’s groundbreaking multidisciplinary professional services model, which combines legal acumen with regulatory and consulting expertise to serve all the needs of health care stakeholders.” She was also praised for her work as an adviser to major players in the health care industry, including federal and state regulators, local governments, providers, payers and life sciences companies. “Dutton is a recognized authority on publicly financed health care and is a leading voice in the movement to combat health inequity by addressing the importance of social drivers of health,” Crain’s added. Topper was recognized as a key member of the Firm’s litigation team with “extensive experience in entertainment law and complex business litigation” and as leader of Manatt's New York office. The profile featured her work in contractual disputes, royalty claims, copyright law, business torts, employment matters, class actions and securities law. In particular, Crain's highlighted Topper's defense of a music company in a lawsuit challenging the company’s decision to sever ties with a musical group as well as her role on a Manatt team that secured summary judgment in a landmark copyright litigation in favor of defendants.
