Updates to New York’s Employment Laws: What Do Employers Need to Know in 2016?

The new year has ushered in a host of new laws and regulatory guidance impacting New York employers. Without making the necessary updates to organizational policies and procedures, these laws could prove costly to companies that operate in New York City or elsewhere in the state.

To help New York employers navigate the evolving laws—and to provide insight into the political landscape that is driving these changes—Manatt will host a complimentary breakfast and briefing on March 1, 2016. During this breakfast presentation, attendees will:

  • Review significant changes to New York City and State employment laws, including those involving new human rights law protections (such as caregiver and transgender rights), background and credit checks, pay issues and benefits issues;
  • Examine risks for litigation and enforcement activity in these areas;
  • Learn best practices for updating existing policies to ensure compliance with these laws; and
  • Gain insight into recent political developments that may impact companies in the coming year.

CLE credit is pending in New York.
