Adler to Speak at UCLA Affordable Housing Development Program

Manatt Senior Land Use Planner will serve as an instructor for the UCLA Ziman Center for Real Estate's 2026 Howard and Irene Levine Affordable Housing Development Program (LAHDP), a weeklong educational program for emerging affordable housing professionals taking place August 26 through September 3, 2026.

On September 1, Adler will present "Due Diligence 101: The Developer's Playbook for Zoning, Entitlements & Deal Risk," a session focused on due diligence review during the site selection, acquisition and entitlement phases of real estate development. The program will provide an overview of key land use, zoning, entitlement, environmental review and permitting considerations that should be evaluated in the early stages of development, with a focus on identifying risks, constraints and opportunities that can affect project feasibility and delivery.

LAHDP is an accelerated university-level training program designed to provide emerging affordable housing professionals in the public, private and nonprofit sectors with the knowledge and practical skills needed to develop affordable housing projects. Drawing on UCLA's established affordable housing curriculum, the program brings together faculty and industry leaders to provide instruction on topics including financing, entitlement, project management, design and housing policy.
