Cohen to Speak on AI and Professional Responsibility Panel at the Global TEC Forum 2026

Manatt Digital & Technology Partner will speak on a panel titled, “Professional Responsibility in the AI Era,” at the Minority Corporate Counsel Association’s (MCCA) Global TEC Forum 2026 on Wednesday, May 27, from 10:45 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. PT at Microsoft’s corporate headquarters in Redmond, WA.

As the legal industry enters a new frontier in the use of AI, professionals are facing evolving ethical challenges associated with the technology. The panel will discuss the real-world professional responsibility issues raised by AI in legal practice, including accountability when AI generates inaccurate or fabricated content, the fine-tuning of internal tools using client data, and the safeguards and disclosures firms must consider. It will also examine conflicts arising from proprietary AI outputs and how supervisory obligations under the ABA Model Rules apply when attorneys rely on or oversee machine-generated work. Drawing on a practical, real-world perspective, Tod and the other panelists will focus on how attorneys are actually using AI today and provide candid, actionable guidance on navigating these issues in day-to-day practice.

The Global Technology, Education & Careers Forum is a two-day MCCA conference focused on the intersection of technology and legal practice. It brings together in-house and law firm leaders to share practical insights on emerging tools, risks and trends shaping the legal industry.
