Nolan to Speak at CAHP’s Strengthening Data Infrastructure in California Seminar

Manatt Health Director will speak on a panel titled, “Improving Encounter Data and Why it Matters,” at California Association of Health Plans’ Strengthening Data Infrastructure in California seminar on Wednesday, March 25, 2026.

As California faces mounting cost pressures, shifting benefits coverage and increased oversight, accurate encounter data (records of rendered health care services submitted to a health plan or payer) has never been more important. Encounter data quality impacts payment precision, benefit design and network evaluation across all lines of business and payers, playing a role in risk adjustment, rate development, and oversight. This session will cover the critical importance of high quality encounter data, examine today’s core encounter data challenges in California, discuss why addressing these challenges matters, and highlight solutions to improve data completeness and accuracy.
