Randi Seigel to Speak at Congressional Briefing on Health Data Privacy in the AI Era

Manatt Health Partner will speak on a panel titled, “Health Data Privacy in the AI Era: Navigating Federal and State Protections and Emerging Risks,” at the Alliance for Health Policy's 2026 Congressional Briefing on October 22, 2026, at the U.S. Capitol in Washington, D.C.

The briefing will give congressional staff a practical understanding of what health data is protected, which federal and state rules apply, who is responsible and where gaps remain. Seigel and her fellow speakers will connect existing privacy frameworks to how AI is being used today, including emerging risks around inference, reidentification and consumer health data. They will also examine how state privacy and AI laws are evolving alongside federal protections, and where those approaches intersect, diverge or create complexity.
