The National Law Journal interviewed Manatt litigation partner Kenneth Julian for his successful representation of Dr. Richard Lopez, Jr., who was recently acquitted of charges he engaged in a cover-up following the misallocation of an organ while he served as head of a hospital’s liver transplant program. Julian spoke to The National Law Journal about how he dismantled numerous misconceptions about what had happened and persuaded the jury that his client was innocent.

When asked why he thought the jury found for acquittal, Julian said:

“We must have won their hearts, because at the end of the case eight of the 12 were waiting for us. They wanted to talk to Dr. Lopez and the team about the case. Essentially, they did not believe that he participated in the falsifications.”
