Michael Cohen Claims Trump Knew About June 2016 Meeting With Russians

Manatt’s Jack Quinn, a partner in the firm’s government and regulatory practice, was interviewed by CNN to discuss the legal implications of allegations that President Trump knew of Russians providing his campaign with information meant to influence the 2016 election.

The CNN segment reviewed allegations by Michael Cohen that Trump knew about the meeting at Trump Tower in 2016, in which Russians provided dirt on Hillary Clinton, and also reported that Cohen had no audio recordings or concrete evidence.

“Well, if this can be demonstrated, if [the allegations] it can be corroborated—that's the important word—I think it furthers both the narrative that the Trump campaign was not only willing but eager to get the support of foreign powers including adversaries like Russia and would also provide a motive for an obstruction case, if this is proven to be true,” said Quinn.
