Manatt Secures Dismissal With Prejudice of California Class Action for Molina Healthcare of California

Manatt secured a complete victory on behalf of Molina Healthcare of California against a statewide class action brought by a putative class of physicians alleging a variety of tort and statutory claims. Molina successfully moved to compel arbitration based on the arbitration clauses contained in the agreements with the Independent Physician’s Associations of the named plaintiffs. The court agreed with Molina that the agreements bound the physicians and that all individual claims must proceed before the arbitrator.

After winning the motion to compel, Manatt persuaded plaintiffs’ counsel to abandon the case, and the court dismissed with prejudice the putative class action in its entirety.

Manatt’s litigation team included Partner Naeun Rim and Associate Noro Mejlumyan.
