Banach Quoted in Hospice News on Using CMMI’s GUIDE Model in Palliative Care

Where Palliative Care Fits into CMMI’s GUIDE Model for Dementia Care
– Hospice News

Manatt Health Partner Edo Banach was quoted in Hospice News on the Center for Medicare & Medicaid Innovation’s (CCMI) new Guiding an Improved Dementia Experience (GUIDE) Model and how palliative care providers are uniquely positioned to support patients by utilizing it.

In the article, Banach discussed the need for an interdisciplinary person-centered model within palliative care, noting that the GUIDE model helps providers take advantage of useful partnerships—including with community-based organizations—and technological enhancements. “Palliative care providers would be very well-positioned to participate in the GUIDE model, but the GUIDE model is not synonymous with palliative care,” he said, adding, “I think it leverages palliative care, and then takes it to the next level.”
