- Local jurisdictions may modify this testing guidance based on local conditions or patterns of transmission. - Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) Testing Recommendations for Patients and Health Care Personnel (HCP) at General Acute Care Hospitals (GACHs) (06/07/2021)
- Hospitals may discontinue routine diagnostic testing of asymptomatic HCP who are fully vaccinated if ≥70% of all HCP that work at the facility are fully vaccinated. HCP with signs and symptoms of COVID-19 should be tested immediately, regardless of vaccination status. - Requirements for Application Submission for Online or Distance Learning Nurse Assistant Training Programs (NATPs) (06/07/2021)
- This updated All Facilities Letter (AFL) permits skilled nursing facilities (SNFs) and intermediate care facilities (ICFs) to contract with existing CDPH-approved online NATPs for the provision of online NATP theory instruction. The SNF or ICF must either develop or use the contracted online school’s clinical training to conduct the clinical portion of the NATP training in their facility or use its own staff.

- SNFs may discontinue routine diagnostic screening testing of asymptomatic HCP who are fully vaccinated and work in a facility where ≥70% of residents and HCP are fully vaccinated; otherwise, routine diagnostic screening testing of asymptomatic HCP should continue in all HCP regardless of their vaccination status.
- Testing and quarantine are no longer required for newly admitted residents if they are fully vaccinated and have not had prolonged close contact with someone with COVID-19 within the prior 14 days.
