Meghan McNamara brings significant healthcare regulatory, compliance and strategic planning experience
Manatt, Phelps & Phillips, LLP, a multidisciplinary, integrated, national professional services firm, today announced that Meghan McNamara has joined the firm as a partner with Manatt Health in the Albany office. McNamara brings extensive experience representing health and behavioral health providers as they encounter a variety of complex regulatory issues.
McNamara is a proven counselor, strategically guiding clients through New York’s rapidly changing healthcare delivery system. She regularly represents clients in matters involving New York regulatory bodies in the healthcare space, including the New York State Department of Health, the Office of Mental Health, the Office of Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Services, and the Office for People With Developmental Disabilities.
“With Manatt Health’s strong presence in New York City, Meghan will be a key addition to the group’s leading regulatory work in the state’s capital,” said Donna L. Wilson, CEO and Managing Partner-Elect of Manatt. “She is exactly what we look for when bringing top talent to the firm—someone who can work alongside our multifaceted, integrated team and help clients navigate regulatory challenges.”
McNamara’s sophisticated knowledge of New York’s healthcare environment and collaborative approach with dedicated state agency staff allow her to guide clients through a variety of regulatory and compliance matters, including certificate of need applications, licensure applications, responses to solicitations of interest and day-to-day compliance issues. She is also skilled in advising clients with respect to strategic planning, statewide healthcare facility program transformation and changes in the state’s fast-changing home care industry.
“Manatt Health’s commitment to being a thought leader in health policy and its cutting-edge team of lawyers, lobbyists and consultants provide an ideal place for me to continue growing my practice in New York and across the country,” said McNamara. “I am excited to support Manatt’s mission of helping clients transform our healthcare system by expanding coverage, increasing access, and creating new ways of organizing, paying for and delivering care.”
McNamara earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of Albany and her juris doctorate from Albany Law School.
