Trial lawyer, litigator, and advocate, Ronald Turovsky is the head of Manatt’s civil trial and appellate group. He counsels clients through all phases of complex civil litigation and governmental, regulatory, constitutional and public policy actions. Recognized by the Daily Journal as one of the Top 100 lawyers in California, Ron’s experience encompasses many significant cases, including litigation against and involving state and local government and California lawmakers.
In commercial litigation, Ron resolves complex disputes involving trade secrets, unfair competition, entertainment, real estate and land use, ERISA and unfair competition. His government litigation includes actions involving taxes, ballot initiatives, government contracts, postelection ballot reviews and the use of public funds.
Among Ron’s clients: a major outdoor advertising company, California state agencies, motion picture production companies, recording artists, pension funds and investment advisors, gaming businesses, real estate developers, professional partnerships, one of the largest food companies in the world, elected officials and political committees. He also serves as lead campaign counsel for candidates seeking city- and state-elected office, and was California legal counsel for the Clinton 1996 and Gore 2000 campaigns.
In addition to presently heading Manatt’s civil trial and appellate group, Ron has served on several different firm committees, including management and compensation. For many years, Ron was head of recruiting.
