Ryan Kruis

Ryan Kruis is a senior manager in the Manatt Business Strategy, Policy and Analytics business unit of Manatt Health group with specific expertise in behavioral health, digital health and academic medicine. He offers implementation support, strategy development and project management on health care business and policy matters to a wide range of prominent health care stakeholders.

Before joining Manatt, Ryan served for nearly a decade in an array of senior roles at the Center for Telehealth at the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC), a federally designated National Telehealth Center of Excellence. In these roles, Ryan led the Center’s federal, state, and philanthropic grantmaking efforts; oversaw the Center’s research and data infrastructure; served as principal investigator and coinvestigator on numerous rural and behavioral health grants; and led telehealth advocacy and coalition building under the auspices of the South Carolina Telehealth Alliance, in partnership with the SC legislature and state Medicaid office. While at MUSC, Ryan also developed and implemented an enterprise-wide telehealth psychiatric collaborative care management program focused on increasing behavioral health access, particularly in rural South Carolina.

Prior to MUSC, Ryan held positions at both at MIT, overseeing a campus-wide mental health and suicide prevention initiative, and at The Fenway Institute of Fenway Health, managing a diverse portfolio of NIH- and HRSA-funded education, training, and clinical research on substance use, LGBTQIA+ health, and HIV prevention and treatment.
