Sareen K. Armani
Sareen Armani is a senior litigation associate in Manatt’s Los Angeles office who represents public and private corporations, boards of directors and individuals in high-stakes disputes in federal and state courts nationwide, including the Southern District of New York and the Central District of California. Her practice spans complex commercial litigation, corporate governance and shareholder disputes, and civil and criminal enforcement matters. Admitted in both New York and California, Sareen regularly manages critical phases of litigation, including dispositive motions, expert challenges and trial preparation in high-exposure matters.
Representative matters include:
- Representing an individual in a high-profile civil action in the Southern District of New York involving allegations of misconduct in the entertainment industry, including pretrial motion practice, expert-related issues and trial preparation.
- Served as a special prosecutor appointed by the Southern District of New York, securing a guilty conviction following a criminal bench trial, which was affirmed by the Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit.*
- Secured dismissal of all claims against a global law firm in the Central District of California.
- Secured entry of default judgment, including an award of damages, in the Central District of California in a commercial dispute involving an international company.
- Secured dismissal of securities fraud claims against a publicly traded financial institution.
- Defeated a California anti-SLAPP motion on behalf of a biotechnology company in litigation involving allegations of fraud.
- Represented a publicly traded technology company in Delaware stockholder litigation arising from an acquisition.*
- Secured dismissal of aiding and abetting breach of fiduciary duty claims against the board of an investment firm in acquisition-related litigation.*
Sareen maintains an active pro bono practice and has been recognized in Manatt’s pro bono honor roll. Her pro bono work has included leading a team updating a 50-state survey on domestic violence protections, representing Mississippi citizens in a Fifth Circuit federal appeal concerning felony disenfranchisement laws and representing indigent criminal defendants through the Southern District of New York’s CJA panel, including securing a favorable outcome on the eve of a federal criminal trial.

Before joining Manatt, Sareen gained significant experience in both New York and California. She was a senior associate at the Palo Alto and Los Angeles offices of a global law firm, where she represented a multinational technology company in litigation arising from one of the largest technology mergers. Sareen began her career in New York, where she worked on high-stakes matters, including representing an elected official in multiple inquiries and serving as a special prosecutor appointed by the Southern District of New York in a federal criminal matter.
