Surprise billing compliance 'very daunting,' regulatory experts say

Manatt Litigation Partner Harvey Rochman spoke with Healthcare Dive about the complications health care providers face complying with the No Surprises Act (NSA).  

In the article, Rochman stated that implementation of the NSA will be “very daunting” because there are lesser-known requirements, such as providing good-faith estimates, that may be difficult for providers to adhere to. "If you had to single out one thing that is really the most complex and difficult ... it's the good-faith estimate," said Rochman. Providers must prepare these estimates under strict time constraints and convene with other providers to collect overall cost estimates. "So this is a very complex obligation,” expressed Rochman, “and it all has to be done in an extremely short amount of time — days at best."
