Manatt Fintech and Blockchain Leader Brian Korn will present an overview of federal policy and rulemaking at a joint oversight hearing hosted by the California State Senate Banking and Financial Institutions and Assembly Banking and Finance Committees. The hearing is titled “Harmful Innovation: What FTX’s Collapse Means for Consumers and California’s Approach to Crypto” at the California State Capitol on February 22.

The panel, titled “Update on State and Federal Policy,” will go over administration review of Executive Orders, The Department of Financial Protection and Innovation’s review of efforts, and an overview on federal policy context, followed by a Q&A session. It has been a busy time for blockchain, with several changes in the works on the federal level, led primarily by the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.
