Manatt Professionals Speak at 2026 RILA Retail Law Conference

Manatt Partners and , and National Advisor participated in the 2026 Retail Industry Leaders Association (RILA) Retail Law Conference, held October 14–16 in Kansas City, Missouri. The conference brought together leading retail legal executives, in-house counsel and outside counsel to discuss the evolving legal, regulatory and business issues shaping the retail industry.

During the event, Christine and Ana presented a breakout session, “Beyond the Algorithm: Defending the Next Wave of Pricing and AI Transparency Litigation,” alongside David Benck of JD Sport. The program explored emerging litigation, regulatory and compliance considerations related to pricing transparency, including surveillance and algorithmic pricing, and the growing use of artificial intelligence in consumer-facing business practices.

Julie joined DICK’S Sporting Goods EVP and CTO Vlad Rak and SVP and General Counsel Elizabeth Baran for the main stage panel, “AI and the Judgment Gap,” where she shared insights on the opportunities and challenges presented by artificial intelligence, focusing on the intersection of governance, legal risk, business strategy and consumer trust. Together, these panelists showcase Manatt’s deep experience in pricing, consumer and retail litigation, as well as the emerging challenges, issues and disputes presented by AI.
