MyNewsLA.com covered Manatt’s successful defense of Blue Shield of California against its former chief technology officer, who claimed he was owed hundreds of thousands of dollars in bonus money that he earned before he was fired in March 2015 for significantly abusing his corporate credit card. Barry Lee, co-chair of the firm’s financial services litigation and enforcement practice, led the trial team that represented Blue Shield in the case.
After a two-week trial, jurors deliberated for less than a half day before agreeing to reject the executive’s claims, finding that no bonus was due. Lee told the publication that he was pleased with the jury’s finding in favor of his client on the plaintiff’s claim.
In addition to Lee, the team included partners Sharon Bauman and Kevin Dwight, and associates Christie Bahna and Stephanie Roeser.
