Bromley Speaks With KCBS-AM on AB-5 Gig Worker Bill and Impact on Music Industry

Bill for Gig Workers Gets Approved
– KCBS-AM

Manatt entertainment transactions and finance leader Jordan Bromley spoke with KCBS Radio on the recently passed AB-5 bill. The bill regulates gig workers and requires musicians to provide workers’ compensation for and pay collaborators as employees. “Independent recording artists would be treated as employers of individuals that they bring in on a recording session,” Bromley said. “So if you’re recording a record in your basement on GarageBand and you ask your friend to come over and play guitar, you’re automatically their employer.”
